Common concerns
Questions every registrar asks
Will our registration numbers change?
No. Existing registration numbers are imported exactly as they are. PedigreeForge only generates new numbers for animals registered after migration.
What if our records are messy or incomplete?
That's normal. The review step exists specifically for this. You can import what's clean, manually enter the exceptions, and flag gaps for follow-up — all in one workflow.
How long does migration actually take?
Most societies complete the core import in a single session. A registry with a few hundred animals typically takes 2–4 hours start to finish, including review.
Can we run both systems during the transition?
Yes. Your old system stays untouched. PedigreeForge is fully separate until you're ready to cut over. There's no forced switchover date.
What if we need to move away later?
